Privacy policy.

This policy covers Fives for iPhone and iPad and its Apple Watch companion, and describes the upcoming iPhone/iPad version 1.8 and Fives for Mac releases. Features differ by platform: optional iCloud saved-game sharing and Game Center are available on iPhone and iPad; Mac saved games and high scores are local. Advertising and App Store purchases are described below for each platform.

You do not need a Fives account to play. Game progress is saved on your device, and gameplay works offline. If you enable saved-game sharing on iPhone and iPad, progress also synchronizes through your Apple Account’s private iCloud database. Optional online features use Apple’s services. The current iPhone/iPad version 1.7 uses Google AdMob and keeps Kickstart Exchange disabled. The upcoming iPhone/iPad version 1.8 will add Exchange menu banners alongside AdMob on iOS or iPadOS 18 or later. The upcoming Mac version will use Exchange menu banners on macOS 15 or later.

1. Information on your device

Fives stores your boards and Career’s new-tile ranges, scores, moves, Career progress and unlocked stages and modes, local run history, best results and preferences on your device. On iPhone and iPad, it also stores a timed run’s deadline, active-play time and an advertising opportunity identifier for the five-minute advert cycle, and loss counters used to decide when an advert is eligible. Try modes previews do not save boards, scores or Career progress.

If you use Game Center, pending score submissions and the player identifier needed to associate them with the correct player may be stored locally. Apple’s verified purchase information is checked on the device to decide whether Remove Ads is active.

If Fives is installed on a paired Apple Watch and Career sharing is enabled, Apple’s WatchConnectivity can exchange the numbers of completed Career stages between the paired devices. This shares unlocks only; Watch boards and local scores remain on the Watch. Fives does not operate a separate developer-run server that receives your saved boards or local game history. Device or system backups may include app data under your Apple settings.

Upcoming Mac release

Fives for Mac will store boards, Career progress, unlocked modes, local scores and preferences on the Mac. These saved games will be separate from iPhone/iPad iCloud sharing and the Watch companion. This Mac release will not submit Game Center scores or share saved games through iCloud.

Reset progress will clear this Mac’s local game data after confirmation; it will not cancel an App Store purchase. Apple or system backups may include local app data under your settings. Mac gameplay will work offline. Mac advertising and purchases are described below for when the release becomes available.

Optional iCloud saved games

On iPhone and iPad, Continue across iPhone & iPad is off until you enable it in Settings. Fives then stores saved boards, Career progress, scores within saved runs, moves, one Undo and timed-run deadlines in your Apple Account’s private CloudKit database. Save identifiers, a device-installation identifier, revisions and timestamps help reconcile changes between devices. This information supports saved-game sharing; it is not supplied to advertising services.

You can continue playing offline; changes synchronize when connectivity returns. Conflicting games can be chosen from Settings, with recent recovery copies retained on the device. Local high-score history, advertising counters, consent choices, preferences and purchases are not transferred by this feature. Watch saved boards are separate.

Turning sharing off or resetting local progress does not delete existing iCloud saves or other devices’ games. Re-enabling sharing may restore an existing save. Changing Apple Accounts requires confirmation before the local game is copied to the new account. Manage Fives’ iCloud storage through Apple’s iCloud settings. Apple’s handling of iCloud information is described in the Apple Privacy Policy.

2. Optional Game Center rankings

On iPhone and iPad, you can play and keep local scores without connecting to Game Center. If you choose to connect, Fives uses Apple’s Game Center to submit eligible completed scores and display separate global Survival, Race the Clock and No Going Back Here rankings. The upcoming Mac release will keep local scores only.

Apple processes Game Center player identifiers, profile information and gameplay activity. Your nickname or alias, avatar and leaderboard score can be visible to other Game Center players. Fives reads the profile and ranking information needed to display those features. Apple manages the Game Center service and its privacy controls; see Game Center & Privacy.

3. Remove Ads and Apple purchases

Remove Ads is a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase, priced at £1.99 in the UK. The App Store shows the applicable local price before you confirm a purchase in other regions.

Apple processes payment and maintains purchase history. Fives uses StoreKit to check Apple-signed transactions and verify the Remove Ads entitlement locally, including restoration, approval or revocation. The developer does not receive your full payment card details from this process.

Apple’s handling of purchase and account information is described in the Apple Privacy Policy. Restore Purchases in Fives can refresh an eligible purchase made with the same Apple Account.

The upcoming Mac release will use the same Remove Ads product. On macOS 15 or later, it will remove Mac menu banners while the verified entitlement is active. macOS 13 and 14 will have no Mac adverts or new ad-removal purchase offer; restoring an eligible existing purchase will remain available. Mac Restore Purchases will be explicitly initiated by the player.

4. Advertising

iPhone and iPad: Google AdMob

The Google advertising behavior and privacy choices in this subsection apply to iPhone and iPad, not to the upcoming Mac release.

When advertising is used

In Career, Survival and No Going Back Here, five active gameplay minutes trigger a clearly labelled Ad break after the current tile movement has settled. Tap Continue to view a ready interstitial advert, then resume the same board. Race the Clock has no mid-run ad-break screen; adverts appear only at natural breaks. Three completed losses can make an advert due sooner at a natural transition, such as Retry, Restart, Next Stage or Menu. Menus, help, scoreboards, adverts, background time and game-end notices do not count as active gameplay. A shown or skipped advert starts a fresh time and loss cycle. Clearing a Career stage resets the loss counter while retaining elapsed active time. Offline or unavailable adverts are skipped without catch-up. Availability and privacy permissions can prevent an advert from being shown.

Advertising requests are disabled while a verified Remove Ads purchase is active or the device has no network connection. Offline play and local saves remain available. Advertising privacy setup and preloading may begin from the menu after purchase entitlement checks allow advertising. Preview modes never show adverts.

Non-personalized requests

Fives requests contextual, non-personalized ads using Google AdMob. Restricted data processing is enabled before the Google advertising SDK starts. Ads personalization is disabled through Publisher Privacy Treatment, and Google’s publisher first-party ID feature is disabled. Fives does not show an App Tracking Transparency prompt or request access to Apple’s advertising identifier (IDFA).

Non-personalized advertising still involves data processing. Google’s Mobile Ads SDK may process your IP address and an approximate location inferred from it, app- or developer-scoped device identifiers, ad views and interactions, app interactions, crash information and performance diagnostics. These can be used to deliver and measure ads, prevent fraud and improve advertising and SDK performance. Fives does not request precise location permission for advertising. See Google’s iOS SDK data disclosure and the Google Privacy Policy.

Consent and privacy messages

Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) manages applicable consent messages and records privacy choices. The app checks whether advertising requests are permitted before loading ads. Where required, an Ad privacy choices option lets you revisit the form from Help. The app gives visible feedback if you are offline or the form cannot open, so you can retry. A previously required privacy entry remains available after buying Remove Ads; checking its requirement does not initialize advertising or load adverts. The choices and services shown depend on your region and Google’s consent requirements. See Google’s UMP privacy guidance.

Upcoming iPhone/iPad version 1.8: Kickstart Exchange

Once released on the App Store, version 1.8 will add a Kickstart Exchange banner for another independent app to the active main menu on iOS or iPadOS 18 or later, alongside the existing AdMob interstitials. The banner will not appear during gameplay, mode previews, Help, Scores, Settings, purchase or privacy forms, or a full-screen advert. It will be created only after the app has completed its advertising privacy check and requests are permitted. A verified Remove Ads entitlement will disable both Exchange banners and AdMob adverts.

Upcoming Mac release: Kickstart Exchange

When Fives for Mac version 1.7 launches, it will use Kickstart Exchange on macOS 15 or later to display a banner for another independent app on its active main menu. Banners will not appear during gameplay, mode previews or purchase screens. A verified Remove Ads entitlement will prevent the banner from being created. Mac will not use Google AdMob or UMP, and it will have no mid-game advert breaks.

How Exchange handles information

The following Exchange information applies to the upcoming iPhone/iPad and Mac integrations. Exchange processes app-level details such as the bundle identifier, platform, app and build versions, SDK version, App Store storefront country, and advert delivery and interactions. It does not receive Fives boards, saved games or local scores. In shipping builds, the SDK may transiently send a locally verified Apple-signed App Transaction to validate the installation; Exchange discards that signed evidence after verification.

Exchange states that subsequent sessions and advert records are not associated with a person or device and are not used for tracking. Its Cloudflare delivery provider processes the connecting IP address as part of network delivery. See Kickstart Exchange’s privacy notice for its processing, retention and choices.

Kickstart Exchange remains disabled in the current iPhone/iPad version 1.7. The new iPhone/iPad banners will become available only after version 1.8 is released; the Mac release does not enable them in an older iPhone/iPad version.

5. Your choices

  • Advertising on iPhone and iPad: use Ad privacy choices in Help when shown to review or change available consent options. Choosing non-personalized ads does not eliminate all advertising-related processing. This Google form will not be offered by the Mac version.
  • Remove Ads: buy the one-time purchase where offered, or choose Restore Purchases for an existing eligible purchase. This stops future advertising on the platform where the verified entitlement is active; it does not delete information previously processed by an advertising service.
  • Game Center on iPhone and iPad: connecting is optional. Manage your Game Center account and sharing through your device’s Settings. Previously submitted scores are subject to Apple’s controls.
  • iCloud saves on iPhone and iPad: switch Continue across iPhone & iPad off to stop future sharing from that device. Existing iCloud saves remain until removed using Apple’s storage controls; switching sharing back on can restore them.
  • Local saves: Reset progress in Fives or deleting the app can remove its local progress. On iPhone and iPad, reset pauses iCloud sharing and does not delete cloud saves or another device’s progress. The upcoming Mac version will reset only this Mac’s local game data. Manage backups separately through Apple’s settings. Purchase restoration restores the entitlement, not a deleted local game.
  • Questions or requests: contact Arman Moradi at the email below about information you have sent to the developer. Apple, Google and Kickstart Exchange provide information and request processes for data handled by their services.

6. If you contact support

If you email armanmrd@gmail.com, the developer receives your email address, message and any attachments you choose to provide. This information is used to answer your request and troubleshoot the problem. It is retained only as needed to handle the conversation and related support or legal obligations.

Please avoid sending passwords, full payment details or unrelated sensitive information. Email is handled through the email service provider; it is separate from your local game save.

7. These support pages

The main policy above concerns the Apple-device apps. These static support pages add no analytics, advertising scripts, external fonts or tracking code. The website’s hosting provider may process technical request information, such as an IP address and browser details, to serve and protect the pages. Its own infrastructure and cookie practices are separate from code added to these pages.

Following an external Apple or Google link takes you to that provider’s website and privacy practices. Email links open your chosen email application.

8. Changes and contact

This policy may be updated if Fives or its services change. The effective date at the top will identify the latest version.
